Actually, this opportunity is an “under the ground floor” opportunity. In fact, the job might always be “under the ground” but the growth could be life changing.
When we hire someone on our team, we usually prefer someone with the right attitude, skills over somone with experience in our industry. We prefer to train our Medics in our processes, not inherit another company’s way of doing business. We also value loyalty, as we are a family-owned company.
Most mold and moisture is caused in basements and crawlspaces, so our Medics are ofter crawling in some nasty spaces finding nasty surprises. If tight spaces, pests, critters and organisms can freak you out, you might want to look for another job.
What it takes to become a Mold & Moisture Medic
In order to become a Mold & Moisture Medic, you must successfully complete our 2 year training program, including field training, online learning and become certified by the IICRC.
No experience is necesary, but we have rigid standards to maintain, so there are some qualities we must have.
Hard Work Ethic
We are seeking someone who wants a career, not just a paycheck. Our selection process filters out the unmotivated and lazy.
Trustworthiness
We have been building trust since 1984, and we will not risk our reputation on someone who fails our integrity review. This doesn’t mean that you are perfect, but you must wearn our trust before you are hired.
Physical Fitness
The job requires crawling in tight spaces, so applicants who are smaller in frame are generally at an advantage. Additionally, the more flexible and limber you are, the more efficient you will be. The job also requires lifting up to 100 lbs at times.
We require that you certify that you are not allergic to mold before you are hired.
Mental Fitness
This is not a cushy job. While most crawlspaces and basements are jut damp and dark, you will certainly see surprises. You should not have a fear of
- Tight Spaces
- Spiders or Bugs
- Snakes
- Rodents
- Nasty Smells
- Slime, Mold, Muck
