Crawl Space Encapsulation Costs

An informal survey of the costs of having a crawl space encapsulated for an average size house in Wake County, NC shows that, depending on the solution and quality of work, varied from $1700 to $16,000.  Why the difference?

The Crawl Space Solution Itself

Different budgets dictate different solutions.  While a full sealed  encapsulation offers the highest benefit, it can cost more than twice as much as other options.

  • Dry out and grade crawlspace
  • Trench french drains and resevoirs
  • Remove insulation
  • Replace duct work or electrical
  • Install sump pump
  • Install vapor barriers
  • Install foamboard Insulation

Quality of Materials

Some smaller companies, in an effort to be price competitive, use one vinyl encapsulation lining barely thicker than a lawn and garden trash bag (4 mm).  Our minimal process is one 10mm layer and often two 10mm layers to ensure than we even protect the protection.  One rip and your mold issues start again.

Additionally, if you have a fully sealed encapsulation performed on your crawlspace, the quality of the pump, dehumidifier and electric parts add a level of complexity to your project.  We offer a selection of name brand equipment that we are proud to represent.

Company Overhead Profit

At the end of the day, all companies are in business to make a profit.  Some go about it by charging a premium price, than using those profits for expensive marketing programs and high sales commissions.  We have very little marketing and no comissioned salespeople.  Additionally, while we have several teams working in Wake County, our main office is in Henderson- saving us thousands monthly in rent, taxes and higher wages.  We pass those savings on to you!
